The characters began their misadventure, showing up in dark rooms with minimal lighting. Grates were in the floors and on a single wall, there was an indented panel with nothing in it. Each of the characters had a choice as the grates opened up with grinding gear sounds, and they made the decisions to climb down them, and/or potentially drop down. The area below was deep and dark, with only the light of what the characters had. Maeve, a faerie, had provided light and Cassandra worked on opening a door, so that the characters might leave their unusual imprisonment. No one had as of yet seen the enemies that held them hostage. All they knew was that each of the characters bore a mark on their arms that was just there, with no signs of tattooing, inking or burning or irritation of any kind to their skins. Rubbing it off was just not possible.
Some simple conversations and introductions transpired as Cassandra, the cop, whittled away at the door locking mechanism and they all discerned soon that no one was actually from this place and no one knew how they even showed up here. For now, it was clear that this team had to work together in order to get out of their predicaments. There were even bones in this dark region, revealing that people had been here before them, but they did not appear to have been eaten, so those bones might have been here for a very long time. The door opened and Cassandra, Mihr, Alish, Maeve, Daedalus and an unconscious woman (Molly), carried by Daedalus, escaped into the hallway. Alish chose to go right and the crew made their way down. They came to a door with another panel, in which Mihr attempted to open it but failed...critically. They had wanted to see if there were more prisoners here, but they would not get that answer. Alarms blared and lights went out. The sounds of beings approaching was quite audible. Maeve launched a spell, sending rabid squirrels down the way, and the team rushed the opposite way, trying to find a means of escape.
Unfortunately, they'd get to a point where a robot with a large gun type weapon was pointed at them and the robot knew exactly where they were. Alish lunged at it with his spear and delivered a blow to the weapon, but it failed to do much. Mihr, quick-thinking, jumped behind it with the cover and pulled some wires out, taking out the robot's capability to see effectively. Cassandra fired her own gun at the robot, intending to hit one of its eyes, but instead misfired and hit Mihr. Fortunately, the young man was not injured gravely, with the bullets going through and no organs were harmed in that transaction. Maeve then finished off the robot, firing a lightning bolt spell at it, frying it immediately. The sounds of chittering ferocious squirrels died out and the team realized they had to get a move on if they were to have any hope.
Alish bandaged up Mihr's wounds to prevent bleeding out, and the group made its way onward until they would come to a room with odd mirrors within. Alish entered, curious, seeing that they were no mere mirrors. They were portals. As the others all entered, they became aware of destinations they could travel to. The marks on their arms felt drawn to the portals as well. Their choices: A world with bouncing pastel bears that wore clothes in a forested setting, a realm of dinosaurs, a freaky zone of icky landfill, an ultra-modern shiny city, or a regular common earth-like city.
In the end, the team had moments to decide as the sounds of machinery drew closer to them, so they settled on the world with bouncing pastel bears, due to one person being injured (Mihr) and some of the team really didn't want to venture into one of the cities. The team now had a moment of respite, but took notice that their marks faded away soon after they emerged through the portal. They also noticed that the Gummi Bears had defeated some nasty ogres and then darted past the team, going out of sight. It was peaceful now, but for how long?
